Favorite Plant: Ribes sanguineum 'King Edward VII'
Why It's My Favorite: This late winter flowering currant produces masses of beautiful, dark pink hanging flower clusters in the early spring that brighten up the landscape . The flowers are followed by edible berries that are attractive and nourishing to birds. This cultivar of a native species flourishes in many areas, and can be mixed with non-natives in a shrub border.
